We were driving from Budapest, Hungary to Salzburg, Austria and decided that a short detour to another country enroute would be opportune...and Bratislava, Slovakia was that stop. Bratislava Castle (Hrad) perched above the city was imposing and seemed impressive on approach, but after paying the...More

I have been many times to Bratislava but actually never visited the castle. So I decided to change it. Started the journey in the old town, we were climbing up through narrow streets to the castle. Those historical streets (Bratislava historical center is very small...More

We whiled away an hour here - didn’t go inside but he grounds are lovely and the views are brilliant. Very pretty gardens too and eating places as well. Our 6 year old and 2 year old loved it!

Some nice views of the riverside, but the view of old town is no big deal just looking down at rooftops. There is nothing much to see inside the castle - which isn’t even much of a castle. It is much more like a semi-fortified...More

Have to visit this Catle. Nice view for the river and for town/oldtown and for the bridge. Not a long and hard trip to visit. If you have some free minutes just take a look.

The castle itself is not so interesting, but the view from several viewing platforms is great! It also looks great from down by the riverside and in photos. Some nice restaurants as you go up or down.

Setting high on the hill above Bratislava, the castle and it's grounds are magnificent and provide great views over the old and new cities. Well worth the steep walk to the top.

This review is based on a tour of the grounds of the castle and not a tour of the inside of the castle. So, keeping that in mind, the only interesting parts of our tour were the really nice views of the Danube and the...More

I was there on sunday and entry was free, other days you need to pay to enter castle. And yes, there is many things to see inside because castle is huge historic museum from ancient to medieval ages.
