It's the only city gate still standing from the medieval fortifications and is probably one of the oldest buildings in the stunning Old Town. Constructed around 1300 it underwent reconstruction in 1758 when they placed the status... More

Our hotel was on michalska street where the gate was so we were passing most days. Looks stunning on a sunny day. A good landmark.

The gate is located at the entrance of the old town and is a must see for anybody coming to Bratislava. It's the only city gate that has been preserved from medieval times in or around 1300 and was then refreshed in 1758 with the use of Baroque elements. You can't miss it and it definitely is a must see.... More

It is also very nice to see if you are already in the city center. You can see also kompass with the distance to the cities straight under this building :)

Busy in the summertime, but you can find find all types of restaurants or clubs (even with live music) there. Avoid the obvious tourist traps, no local people ever go there. A special place to visit: Citaren U cerveneho raka (Red Lobster Reading Room) next to the St. Michael's Tower

This tower / gate has been made into an interesting museum and view from the top is fab. With this museum you get one ticket for 2 museums the other being an old chemist shop which is also interesting. This is a must.

The way in, and the way out. It is a visible tower so a good gathering point. The zero point and mileage signs were cool.

Inside the museum there are many different weapons and from the very top floor you can go out onto the balcony and see a 360° view of the city.

This historic street is blessed with some interesting shops, a good selection of bars and restaurants as well as some good antique shops. The street buzzed with a throng of tourists and locals and is a must see location for visitors to Bratislava
