I visited the castle at the recommendation of our tour guide. It is beautiful, houses some famous English tapestries which were discovered hidden within the walls. Interesting chimneys and furniture. When I was there, the castle also hosted a beautiful art exposition of items made of wire

The building is in the old town, not far from the old town hall. Today it is the seat of the Mayor of Bratislava. Don't miss the visit inside. In 1805, the Hall of Mirrors of the palace, witnessed the signing of the Peace of Presburg (present-day Bratislava), which ended the war of the Third Coalition. The ticket costs only 3€ and included in the price you have audio guides that will illustrate the history of the paintings, the small private church, the rooms and tapestries. Lo consiglio vivamente!

The Primatial Palace is a classicist palace originally built as a bishop's residence. The building is very prestigious, and you can clearly feel the difference to Vienna, where everything is three sizes bigger and more magnificent. Inside there is an exhibition of historical paintings and tapestries, and it's worth walking through.

Really interesting building and collection. Firstly the building itself is an attractive powder-pink. It is topped by 150kg cast iron cardinal's hat. The rooms whilst not extensive are attractive. Historical it is important for the signing of the 'Peace of Pressburg' in 1805 after the Austrian defeat to Napoleon at Austerlitz. For history buffs it is interesting to think of Talleyrand working in these rooms to create the treaty.
Regarding the contents, the most notable are six tapestries made in 1628 to 1630 in Mortlake near London.
My only criticism would be that the pictures and furniture should have explanation plaques in English- sorry sounds nationalistic but it seems most tourists here understand English.

Neoclassical palace from the end of the 18th century commissioned by Archbishop Batthyanni which is considered the most beautiful palace in Bratislava. In the Hall of Mirrors the Peace of Pressburg (previous name of Bratislava) was signed between France and Austria in 1805 after the Battle of Austerlitz. In the internal courtyard there is the beautiful fountain of Saint George killing the dragon. It currently houses the city mayor's office.

Very pretty palace from the outside only. Don’t bother to go inside. Super rude staff who watches you like a hawk and follow you everywhere. Very unpleasant experience. And the mirror hall is just a very simple room with few simple mirrors on the side, nothing special at all. Seriously the worst experience during our stay in Bratislava.

I'm not sure why this wasn't on our list of things we needed to check out on our day-trip to Bratislava. But it should be on yours. It was a great bargain compared to all the other palaces we've toured. It was more modest than some of those places, to be sure. But it was well worth the small entrance charge. "By the way, "Primate" refers to a religious title, not to "apes" or something.) We quite enjoyed the audio tour and principally that it gave us a nice place to come in out of the weather on a rainy afternoon.

I thought there would be more to see of the Primates palace when doing the research for the trip. Its a lovely building with a nice little court in the middle of it with a statue but not much else to see. Have a walk through when your there but don't plan to spend too much time there.

Primates' Palace is definitely one of the biggest attractions in Bratislave, it has a very nice architecture and you can see outside the beauriful Fountain of Saint George and the Dragon. Worth a stop if you are in the area.

The Primate's Palace is the former palace of the Archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest, but now the offices of the Mayor of Bratislava. It's a Neoclassical building painted in pink, an interesting choice of colours. A claim to fame for the palace is that it was also the location for the signing of the fourth Peace of Pressburg, which ended the War of the Third Coalition.
The courtyard of the building is the location of a fountain with Saint George and the dragon as it's centrepiece and itself an attraction. The palace is worth seeing
