Not too much to do there. A bit of a walk, icecream and children already get bored. Good place for an hour or so. Dont come on tram here- sometimes they run quite rarely.

Parts of the ancient fortress are still on good condition and allow you to envisage how powerful it would have been in its time. Much of the grounds comprise buildings in a poor state of repair, or are private residences. There are much better examples...More

It is mindblowing, that this kind of fortress is still alive in nowadays. There is also real people living in there. Defintely a must when visiting Daugavpils!

Well worth visiting. Maris in information centre was very friendly, told us loads of history in Latvian and English, it was amazingly interesting and all for free

If you are in Daugavpils I recomend the guided tour. It was an interesting story and also some sights arround. Not only Rotko, there is more than that.
