Many monuments, a striking Orthodox Cathedral, the Latvian National Museum of Art, and the Art Academy of Latvia are located in the park.

This park doesn't have a canal as the nearby parks, the Kronvald and Bastejkalna Parks. For a picnic, I would prefer them.

However, the stunning Latvian National Museum of Art is a must-see museum in Riga.

My wife really enjoyed this smaller Christmas market as it had a large place for bunnies to run around and be fed. It also has Christmas music playing, a ferris wheel, and some vendors selling local goods!

We've wandered through this pretty park a couple of times and really liked it. Right now it has some beautiful big beds of red and white (the colour of the Latvian flag)Dahlias in bloom, it has great shaded spots to sit, and some excellent views of the Orthodoz church with its golden domes.

This is a lovely little garden, located next to the Nativity cathedral and the Freedom monument.
The garden features a fountain and several nice sculptures.

Nice park to stroll around and admire the stately Nativity of Christ Cathedral (with the gold domes). The bird house "tree" was a really nice touch.

During my brief visit of Riga, I kept visiting this Garden to enjoy the surroundings, to breathe fresh air and simply to chill out.

There are other attractions located near it: Freedom Monument ( where I watched 5 soldiers marching, 2 left to stay on guard), monuments, flowers, fountains, birdhouses, Orthodox Church, etc. Highly recommended to visit this garden!

The refreshing Esplanade in Central Riga, with refreshing greenery, surrounded by busy streets, top attractions such as Russian Orthodox Church, Latvian National Museum of Art,iconic Grand Poet Hotel connect to Freedom Monument as well as busy commercial hub of eateries cafes and all that a traveller longs for. Not to be missed.

A fresh place to start your morning. Aside from the rich breakfast selection what I like is the volume of the restaurant. The high ceiling gives you a sense of majesty from the early morning that pumps your day into a double carburetor engine.
The service is excellent and as mentioned earlier the food selection is top.
You are greeted by Nikola who from her first day at lwork showed know how and professionalism. She can offer you a cup of coffee to keep you waiting patiently but happily. The F&B manager Inta always making sure that the morning is happily moving you into your busy day. A great team of young people that deserve admiration and respect. Try it you will not regret.

We took a stroll through this park on our way to the Museum for History of Medicine. Despite September month, there was greenery and beautiful flowers in the garden. Can't say it's a must visit but if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and spend some peaceful time, this definitely is the place. The beautiful Nativity of Christ Cathedral is also in this park.

Just outside the Old Town and easy to get to on foot by going through the other parks. The Orthodox Cathedral is a very interesting building and there are some cafes scattered through the park. There are plenty of places to sit and watch the world go by and it is a close walk to the art nouveau area.
