The building was incredibly gorgeous and breathtaking. The exhibition ranged from classical to modern Latvian art. It was wonderful that the museum offered an app that you could use as a tour guide-very interactive experience.

It was renovated a year ago, and it is quite spacious and bright now. Worth a visit if you are spending more than a couple of days in Riga.

The museum is beautiful after renovation and has an amazing permanent collection. Latvians are very proud of its artists so it is definitely a must to visit it. Weekday mornings are the best to visit it quietly, but even on weekends are generally not that...More

The art is a bit mixed but the museum is extensive with some very fine works. This definitely should be on list for any art lover.

This is an easy-to-see collection, spanning several centuries of Latvian art over two floors. My personal favourites were the atmospheric 19th c. scenes and the early 20th c. experiments--but there were both earlier periods and contemporary artists represented.

I like that kind of museums in which possible to slowly examine exposition in 1,5-2 hours. Enough but not too much arts located on a few floors and basement. Basement with a temporary exposition has a transparent wall to show art storage - very interesting....More
