The museum is of high quality, and is very educational. It provides the knowlegde you need for understanding how the war affected Latvia, and how todays society is affected by Nazi and Sovjet occpation. An important part of your visit to Riga. Fun fact: Many well-known people has visited this museum, like Queen Elisabeth II

Interesting and informative. The exposition also gives voices to those actually affected by the occupation. Very touching. Had hoped the expositoion would be slightly more interactive, but maybe they have a larger version of it in the main occupation museum building? This one was after all the temporary exposition. Very interesting and worth visiting nonetheless!

This has been relocated but is worthwhile seeking out. The staff greeting you are friendly and helpful and the exhibits are well organised. There are videos with explanations in various languages and there is a lot of information and statistics to take on board. The exhibits are numbered so it is easy to follow. It is a worthwhile museum to... More

Really interesting museum full of information that I had no idea about. I think it's really important when visiting different countries to learn about their history, struggles and society. Well organised and easy to follow in sequence, which really helps when there is so much to try and soak up. Entry by donation. A must see.

You shouldn't really go to Latvia without going to this museum to understand what has been going on in Latvia for the last hundred years. The things this museum reveals is astonishing. You should also go to the KGB museum to top it off.

You want to make sure you visit this Museum! It has moved to a new temporary location on the other side of the park near the Radisson hotel. If you are lucky enough, you can ask for the Latvian Leonardo DiCaprio who is an excellent guide there. He will tell you the history of Latvia and the many occupations, along... More

We visited here the first day of our 4 day vacation, it is the second time we have been here we came with our friends this time. A must if you are staying in Riga, at the moment it has been moved but still easy to find. We did have Martin to tell us all about the museum what a... More
