It's hard to say that you enjoyed a museum like this, but it was fascinating. The guided tour was interesting too but I think it'd be better to go around at your own pace if you can. It's also currently being refurbished and so it's...More

Temporarily in the old US embassy during renovations. Organized well and guides were excellent. Lots of history here.

This museum is in a temporary location (the former American Embassy) while the main building is being renovated. The staff apologised for the display not being very interactive, but for a temporary display it was not bad - mainly text displays on the walls, an...More

The museum it’s self is very basic the exhibition is pretty much information on the walls, which is interesting content but not very interactive. It is however free so can’t expect too much! It’s something to do whilst in Riga but I wouldn’t say it’s...More

Interesting Museum with alot of history of latvia. Easy to walk to and free entry. The Museum is not massive you would not spend more than 30mins unless you read every exhibit.

An excellent insight in to the huge amount of turmoil and toning and fringe Latvia has undertaken over the last 100 years. Very fascinating and moving. Free entry, but donations, in my opinion, are an absolute must.

The museum is free entry. I would suggest watching the introduction video before visiting the KGB building as it will give you a good insight into the history of Latvia.

Currently housed in the old American embassy whilst the original location is modernised. Limited exhibits. Not sure how long before relocated as it seems to be well over due and no sign of the new build

Latvia has been a political football between USSR and Germany and kicked around by both it's neighbours. An informative museum leads the visitor through the sad recent history of Latvia. Deeply moving experience. No entrance fee but you should contribute to the up keep of...More

A fantastic museum that shines a light into a part of the history of 20th century Europe that many are unaware of. Walking around this museum makes me wonder at the strength and resilience of the Latvian people (and their Baltic neighbours) in the face...More
