This was such an interesting place to visit. It's such a large park, and you can just walk the woods for hours if you wanted. The buildings were great and the weather was perfect. I would recommend going if you love nature and history!

I like to discover new countries. Usually I'm riding a sity tour by myself, but of course one of the best way - to visit the open air museum. There is such opportunity to know the history and culture of real Latvia. Strongly recomended!!!

A really well laid -out 'village'. Lots to see and good information boards on the buildings. There is a café/barbeque in the middle of the area which is not signposted nor on the map. It should be ! You can go into most buildings too.

There are other similar museums we have visited in locations ranging from Canada to Siberia. This one is relatively small (and very do-able in consequence) housing buildings from all over Latvia. There are demonstrators in costume at several of the properties who all gave excellent...More

A museum among the pine tree forests, very scenic and unique. A good experience of how the buildings looked like and the life of the people in the old Latvia days.

I have spent many wonderful hours in the Open Air Museum. It is a place for solitude, silence and reflections of the history of Latvia, tangible, in the homes, churches represented there. For a Grandma travelling alone, it is also important that it feels totally...More

No - but there is a cafe bar at the entrance who might help if you ask them. Alternatively you could leave them at Riga railway station as they assuredly do have left luggage.

It depends when you arrive! In summer it stays open till 20:00 but most of the buildings close at 17:00 - so between 17:00-20:00 admission is 1.5 euros but up until 17:00 it is 7 euros (with concessions for children... More
