It took more than an hour to get the tickets at the site, but it was worth it. I recommend booking online beforehand. Lots of things to see. Very easy to get there with local train from Krakow.

This was a highlight of my trip to Poland. We booked via Discover Cracow. You go so deep into the ground and you have to walk all the way down. It really gives you a sense of how deep you are as it feels like...More

You can not fail to be impressed both at the organization and the ultimate skill of the miners that ‘built’ this mine. Tip of the day – do an organized tour – you can wait for a long time if you just turn up to...More

We had a great guide called Agnestha (Agnes...i think?) She was informative and funny and answered our questions. V impressive mines. Well worth a visit (avoid Discover Cracow tour group though, that part was v disorganised)

This is worth the stop. The history behind this mine is very interesting. So much to see and you don't feel like you are underground. Be prepared to walk down many flights of stairs to get there. You will also do a lot of walking...More

Thought this would be just hype and way too touristy. It's touristy alright but for a reason. You won't find a visit like this anywhere else. It was fun, we learned some fun facts and some of the carvings were great. Unfortunately you have to...More

Incredibly Impressive; however, we would have liked to have seen the Krakow dragon carved distinguishedly in salt, rather than a Shrek-like cartoon peeping out of the salt cavern. Prepare yourselves with good walking shoes and a light jacket, if you easily get cold at 65...More

Wieliczka Salt mine is an amazing experience to go 135 mtrs deep, but the Chapel @ 120 mtrs is extremely beautiful & definitely worth a visit.

If it is quite warm, I would wear comfortable sandals. They warn you that it is pretty cold inside the mine, but that is not right, seems around 20 degrees C. The ground is very even, no problem, BUT there are 500 steps to... More

It is about 16 degrees in the mine so best to wear closed shoes . the surfaces are either salt wood or concrete and you wil be walking down some stairs. I recommend some comfy trainers.
