I’m a Peregrino and seen many old bridges on my way and this is perhaps one the the top ones. The history surround it and after all these years still standing is magnificent.

Nice heritage left from ancient civilization. They used to say that who would cross the river would loose their memories. Nice to see among the dozens of people crossing the bridge the pilgrims walking to Santiago.

This is the oldest bridge in Portugal and built by the Romans! It goes across Rio (River) Lima and i learned that it allows passage to thousand Pilgrims (on their way to Santiago de Compostela) each year. It is very very pretty and coasted by...More

The main symbol of Ponte de Lima, that together with the river names the town, is its bridge. In reality, it’s a composite formed by two bridges: a medieval part, which is bigger, starting on the left bank of the river and stretching to the...More

This bridge is on the Caminho route out of Ponte de Lima. It offers beautiful views of the river and surrounding area as well as the town itself.

Ponte Romana in Ponte de Lima Portugal is a pretty rounded bridge near Silves Northern Portugal, we stopped to get a selfie with. There is really nowhere convenient to stop to get it directly in a background not the distance. Great walk.

A must see when in Ponte de Lima. Great walk with a view on Lima river. You have several coffee shops at the end of it, on Largo de Camões.

We were located across the river from the main historical part of town. We crossed the Bridge to go touring during the day and again in the evening to dine. The crossing at night is very romantic and beautiful.

The Romans left behind many architectural and structural features in Portugal, and the bridge at Ponte de Lima rates as one of the best--and definitely worth a day trip up from Porto or a stop on your way north on the autoroute to Spain. We...More

The walk across the bridge and a visit to the church is quite nice. You could see some water wildlife like Kingfishers. Takes you back in time and nice and relaxing.
