It's easiest to take the little train from Pedras de El-Rei (about EU 1.50), because the walk over to Barril can get pretty hot. Once there, walk out to Barril beach; the sign says if you walk 1.5 km to the right, you will come...More

We visited the beach yesterday and it's lovely. White sands and blue skies. We caught the train however it looks a nice walk. There are lovely bars to eat and drink and a few small shops

A very family friendly, unspoiled beach. Beautiful sand and water. It takes a short trolley train ride of a 15min walk to get to the Beach, but we'll worth it. The adjacent town is small and charming.

plenty of room on beach and within 1 Km you have a Naturist beach as well. Pleasant train ride to the beach although i prefer to walk so i get enough exercise to work off the good algarvian food.

During our stay in Tavira we visited three beaches. This was our favourite. From our experience, the beaches are all very similar: long stretch of clean white sand, clear cool water (but definitely not cold in June, from our Scottish perspective!), parasols and loungers for...More

It was too cold however all of the beaches are OK to swim. Water tends to be lively as you are on the Atlantic
