We weren't sure what to expect but we had an amazing time! The guides were professional and very friendly and the small group numbers meant we never felt like just another customer. The road to the farm was narrow and steep in parts but once you are there everything is well taken care of. We had multiple opportunities to see the Hector dolphins up close, even babies with their mothers! Thanks for a great day out!

Beautiful experience! Ani and Mafi were very welcoming and friendly! The boat tour was great, with a little group, we saw lots of Hector dolphins, we jumped in the water to swim with a few, we were even got to see caves and seals, all with a tea and cookie break. Thank you a so much for this unforgettable moment !!

Had an amazing tour last week with Onuku Farm Hostel! Loved that it was a small group of people which made it really personal. The night before, Mafi rang because there were really strong winds which were predicted until the morning so she was able to get in touch with everyone and move the tour back a few hours - very thankful for that! Great that it's a small tour and we weren't confined to a set route - it was all about getting out and spotting the dolphins! Was super lucky to see a mother with her baby (obviously not able to swim with them, they're really clear that these are wild animals and everything we did felt like the animals were respected). Mafi was able to provide lots of information about the dolphins and we jumped in to swim with some and had a few playful ones around the boat. Such an awesome experience!! Also saw seals and little penguins bobbing about. Some lovely hot showers upon returning to Onuku Farm Hostel too! Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone!!

My son and I went to Akaroa to swim with dolphins as part of the celebration for my late husbands birthday. We left Christchurch at 5am and got to the Onuku Farm Hostel around 6.45am. We had a look around and then at 7.30am we (everyone - a lovely small group, on the trip) were given wetsuits to wear. We were taken to the beach and then via dinghy to the main boat. It was explained to us that the dolphins were wild and it was up to them whether we had any interaction with them. In the harbour we only saw a few dolphins at a time, but did get in with them for a while. Back in the boat we went outside the heads and there were so many dolphins, again back into the water for a while. I ended up getting out and watching from the boat. On one side of the boat I saw at least 10 dolphins and on the other side, the people in the water were with about another 6. We stayed for about an hour, with these friendly dolphins. Then it was back to Onuku, checking out the seals and the volcanic larva tubes in the cliffs. The thing I was a bit disappointed with was I couldn't see through my goggles - foggy. (My suggestion would be - take your own if you have some).

What a wonderful morning! We were so glad we chose this company. They were warm and friendly and just as excited as we were. Their boat means you are close to the water and the dolphins, making this experience surreal. Would highly recommend and hope to go again ourselves.
