We were in Akaroa for the day on a cruise ship village and spent 5 hours with Robin on his mail run. We were lucky and he had a couple of seats free, but we would recommend booking in advance as he is usually fully booked. We had a change of itinerary which messed things around a bit. We've booked... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our "Special Delivery" day with Robin on his Eastern Bays Scenic Mail Run. We were "Handled with Care" for the fun five hour 120km trip visiting several bays and highlands. The sweet & savory morning treats along with tea and coffee in a lovely beach which were "sent with love" from Robin's lovely wife. "Neither wind, nor... More

With all reviews I offer pros and cons Pros: Whats there not to love? Robin is an exceptional mailman and gave us an amazing behind the scene tour showing the hardwork it takes to deliver mail. We zigzagged through serene places , got to see cool mailboxes , got to hear great stories. Robin is witty , honest , and... More

We did the Mail run day with Robyn several years ago and enjoyed it every bit as much this time - were thrilled to share it with our friends who had not visited NZ before - the 4 of us had a magical day - Ribyn shared all kinds of info about this beautiful area - he made the day... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our mail run with Robin. The weather was perfect and despite the fact that Robin was havin a bad day because of mechanical issues with the mail truck he still managed to entertain us and share local stories. The scenery was so beautiful! A highlight of our trip to New Zealand!

Yes, five hours with the postman. You drive around the rim of the extinct volcano, with magnificent views in all directions. You dip into many of the coves to deliver mail to small settlements. You learn a little about each place. A pleasant mid morning snack by the beach. And you see a myriad of quirky postboxes. Robin is a... More

Knowledgeable, informative and entertaining without being over the top. A laid-back character who has lived in the area for 30 years and delivered the mail so long that he could do it blindfolded. The scenery was magnificent and the anecdotes about the locals and their community very interesting. Plenty of stops for photos, a cup of tea and cakes. An... More

To be driven for 5 hours 120k around the Akaroa district in a mail van delivering to and collecting the mail from remote homesteads doesn't sound appealing. But how wrong you'd be. The postie, Robin, is a mine of information about Banks Peninsular, and you get to see wonderful sights way off the beaten track. A homemade picnic on the... More

Had been wanting to do this for ages and made it a priority this time visiting Akaroa. What a great way to see the bays of the Peninsula. Robin is such a friendly guy whose wit is admirable. We had another 3 people with us and we all laughed and joked together along the way. The delicious morning tea of... More

We really enjoyed our day with Robin as he delivered mail to nearly 100 rural mailboxes in scenic Akaroa. Along with six other cruise passengers, we traveled up and down the few roads in Akaroa and enjoyed amazing views of the area. Robin's wife had prepared snacks for us,and we even had a chance to meet some of the homeowners... More
