When the sun is shining and the family want a day to remember, we board our little 22 foot yacht and sail across to Lochmara Bay, tie up on one of the Lodge's many moorings and are ferried across to the jetty. It's a beautiful restaurant to wine and dine, with large wooden outside tables as well as an indoor... More

While visiting Lochmara Lodge for the conservation tour we walked around and enjoyed the art displayed through out the property. Our guide told us how people come to Lochmara to help with the conservation and they get free room and board. All they are asked is to make a piece of art to leave behind. Therefor we saw some very... More

The views were nice, free kayaks good but where is the wildlife? There was one species of bird in the native bird enclosure and after walking around we only saw one pig and a tame parrot that hangs out by the cafe on his perch. Bit disappointing when it's sold as a wildlife haven and conservation area. I feel this... More

we were staying at Lochmara and thought we may have to pay over the odds in the restaurant as obviously once there there is no other option for dining. But, we foung the prices reasonable and the food excellent. Wine by the glass was also reasonably priced.

We decided to take the launch across Queen Charlotte Sound to Lochmara Lodge and Arts Centre and found a beautiful village with much to offer. We were immediately in chatty conversations with the owners and their friends and enjoyed a delicious brunch. Strolled around the latticework of bush pathways past wildlife sanctuaries, art galleries and hidden therapeutic rooms. It was... More

We live in Picton and travel out to Lochmara Lodge frequently. It is such a relaxing place with very friendly staff and good food. We have stayed there are a family for Christmas one year, and still recall that with great happiness.
