We went here the same day as a Festival in Picton so entry was ,"a Gold Coin Donation" thankfully this turned out to be a couple of dollars each rather than Golden Sovereigns :-). The story of the Edwin Fox's travels to its final resting place was well told and access to the Ship pretty much unrestricted. Fantastic views of... More

Make sure you go to this museum. A beautifully designed display centring on the Edwin Fox, a wooden boat from the 1830s, with an amazing career all over the world. You watch a video, look at the displays, and then go to the boat itself. There's lots to touch, play with, and imagine. You can walk down into the dry... More

We had some time to kill in Picton so we decided to tour the Edwin Fox Ship and Center. We were amazed at how well they presented the information on this old ship. We started with the video and then toured the original ship. They rebuilt the galley and bunks. So impressed!

we recently visited the Edwinf Fox Museum in Picton and I was suprised to learn the history of this ship. The dispplays have excellent information - very clear and interesting), it's an amazing story, and the interactive parts were fun for adults and kids. I definitley recomend it.

Amazing place, not only because it has a real ship inside (not the only one in fact), but because of the 'touch and try' approach. You can really step inside the XIX sailing ship and lay down in a sailors hammock. It's not much more than that, but it's worth to come by and take a look even if museums are... More

Great work in progress. There is a video to start with that tells you about the Edwin Fox and after this you have a look round the ship. When watching the video, my thoughts were all about "why save a hulk that is only the worm riddled bottom half of a sad sailing ship" BUT when you have a look... More

A small museum. Not interested in the 30min BBC video especially with kids in tow, but the preservation of the ship itself and being able to walk through the ship is fantastic. Great way spend cold wet morning in Picton.

This uni-focused exhibit is located in a custom built site, even though it looks like an old HM Customs building. The story of the metal clad but wood framed Edwin Fox immigrant/convict/merchant ship laid down in 1852 is well worth a 1 hour visit. Located immediately adjacent to the Picton ferry terminal the museum is not government owned ..... and... More

Good to see so much history preserved, lots of stories in the attached museum and a lot of effort has gone into bringing the displays to life. The ship itself is in a good state considering her history,
