OK showing my age but last time i was here (3 decades ago) it was all about discovering the tunnels! Nice drive to get there and beautiful but we wanted tunnels

Visited early morning, nice walk, fantastic views. It is a shame that the tunnels are closed and it looks to be a permanent decision. There is a little bit of history but it's mainly all about the rocks appearing after a volcano many years ago....More

A great place to stop for a walk on the loop. We enjoyed the relaxing walk; clmbed to the top of hill to view the Man O'War bay.

About a 45 min easy / flat walk from the car park takes you to the impressive remains of historic WWII defense gun emplacements. Unfortunately the tunnels were shut when we were there but we were able to climb down into the big concrete emplacements....More

On the far east side of Waiheke lies the remote Stony Batter. Scattered across the landscape of the furthermost end of the island lie countless boulders from a volcanic eruption millions of years ago. There are plenty of walks connecting the road end to the...More

My friend and arrived on Waiheke Island on a drizzly, but mild day. It didn't matter though, as Waiheke is very rarely disappointing. We had taken my car on Sealinks car ferry, another great way to get to Waiheke. Especially when they discount the price....More
