A must when visiting Trinidad. Hitch a ride in horse carriage (asking price 20CUC for 40 minutes ride around town) from there or visit the nearby palace and watchtower for a splendid view over the city.

Always plenty happening around the Plaza Mayor as this is where the music is. This year was the 505th anniversary of the founding of Trinidad and the music and dance was everywhere around the Plaza.

Peaceful area ( in the day) with very colourful and picturesque old colonial houses which have beautiful architecture. The cathedral and 3 museums are situated around the square.
