This is an amazing little town, full of colonial buildings, in fine condition, from sea salty air. It deserves to be a UNESCO World Heritage site. Little shops and cafes, with friendly people and a street of art galleries. Accessible from the many Cases Particulares, who feed you delicious, locally organic food. The restaurants are full of antiques, which they... More

this is a beautiful plaza but when we went in january there were far too many tourists in the city. "saturated." i would visit another small cuban town in high-season. i would visit this in off-season, however.

Plaza Mayor and old Trinidad in general was a real treat. It's crazy to think places like this exist in the Western hemisphere, let alone the world. You'll definitely see a lot of other tourists here, but it is worth the trip.

Planned to spend 2 days after a 3 1/2 hour bus ride from Havana. By 4pm we had seen everything there was to see in this sleepy one horse town. Fortunately we were staying at Las Cuevas, the resort at the edge of town that had a pool, bar and restaurant. We hung out there for the next 2 nights... More

I was amazed at how preserved this town was. Plaza Mayor is not only very pretty, it's the only place to pick up Wi-Fi connection in town. Like everyone else, we grabbed a take away cocktail and sat on the steps hoping that our Wi-Fi cards might work. If they didn't, it's a fab place to hang out and people... More
