We are both in our 50s and did the strenuous walk. It's a tough walk down. You need good footwear on. We had trainers on. The guides are superb. They are very knowledgeable about the surroundings and wildlife. We stayed at playa pesquero which did not have the trip on their itinerary so we had to get the Thomas Cook representative... More

A beautiful falls and the highest in Cuba. There are 2-3 hiking routes to choose from, and each must be done with a local guide whom you tip at the end. They also have a restaurant and serve lunch. It's about an hour off the paved road from Mayeri and you need a quality car with decent clearence as the... More

There's a hike down through green foliage to the bottom of the grand waterfall. beautiful hike - watch out if you go out climbing on the wet rocks - they are slippery! And also a smaller hike to the top of the waterfall. Our guide was William - a great and humble generous, selfless guy who cares deeply about the... More

Enjoyed everything about Guayabo Falls. William was knowledgable and committed. The hikes were great. There is 1 easy hike and 1 longer, steep hike. The falls are very swimmable. There's a centralized outdoor eating area with well-seasoned, generously portioned food. William and the bartending staff went out of their way to help us get a ride to our next destination.

This is a ways up the mountain but the scenery at the top is breath taking and they have dammed up the bottom so you can swim in the natural fresh water. Totally recharges your battery.

Nice adventure to get to the waterfalls and a great place to take pictures. Wear good foot ware so you don't slip. The guide was helpful and full of knowledge.

We took the tour up to the falls. The drive in the Jeep was great love the country side and the scenery. We did the shorter walk down to the falls, the other route would be about 1hr. there is a natural spring/pool where you can swim in and able to go by the waterfall to take pictures.

We travelled here with 4 adultas and one child: 3x50+ Year olds, 19 and 12 year old. This was an absolutely amazing excursion! Carlos, our guide was very knowledgeable and patient. Breathtaking views surrounded by nature. It was a bit treacherous getting into the water for some of us older ones, but the younger did just fine! The meal was... More

If I were to suggest any attraction to anybody, out of all the places in the world I have been - would be here. This is such a hidden gem, and if Cuba had the market for it, this would be a TOP tourist attraction, I am so glad I got to experience this before this can happen. I have... More
