To reach the Fallen Leaf Lake, we had to drive through a dire shape narrow road (better not bring your good car, there) to finally see a tiny beach, more like a private sand box. The place looked more like, excluded it ,with many, beautiful...More

If you are visiting Lake Tahoe this is another place you can easily cover. Less crowded than the big lake. You can rent self-drive boats if you are interested.

Easy walk from the day parking area at Fallen Leaf Campground to the lake. Met friends staying at the Campgrounds and they took us past a hollow tree, where you can stand in the tree. Meandered to the Lake, very nice day but windy on...More

This is sort of an offshoot trip you can take when visiting Lake Tahoe. Fallen Leaf lake is a few miles up a winding road off SR89 and is worth the drive. The road is single lane for most of the way so a smaller...More

We were told about this place by a local and were not disappointed. It's very serene and a great detour just a few minutes from South Lake Tahoe.

Nice place to hang out with some hiking trails and beach. Beautiful alpine lake and you can avoid the crowds of tahoe. Park in the day lot at the end of the campground, then short hike to the lake.

Spent a day in this area. If you enjoy nature, the flowing river, small water falls and lovely woods make it a must place to visit. Lovely blue sky adds to the beauty.

About 30 minutes from the Stateline casinos, after winding through a neighborhood, and then traveling the last few miles along the east shore on a one-lane road, you will arrive at the Fallen Leaf Lake marina. We went last year, rented a boat, and took...More

Only a short distance to the campground and to that point, it's really not bad. If your going to continue on the road, say to the other end of the lake, it's pretty narrow. Fine with a car or regular truck. Just be patient... More

There is not great cell service at this camp ground. We had Verizon on our visit and had very little connection, intermittently, to check email. Not enough solid, consistent connection to check the internet or social media.

It will be warm, hot on the lake. But weather changes quickly up there and there is a chance of summer storms. The campground at Fallen Leaf Lake is pretty tree covered so there is plenty of shade. Nights will be chilly but... More
