The land is amazing to explore and wander, there are dunes, rock outcroppings and plenty of spaces to explore. You have to be ready. Don't get caught without proper supplies. It's a desert, it's really dry, bring plenty of water, find shade. There's lots of...More

'It's definitely a story' we like to tell everyone. Our plan was to drive from LA to Vegas in a mustang - and got there. Eventually. We got a little lost, but the actual desert was pretty awesome. TIP: always make sure your GPS works...More

There is nothing much there to see, at least from the main Rd. We have seen so much interesting stuff on this trip this doesn't rate as one of the highlights. We were lucky we could put the top down and turn up the music.

Travelled from Bakersfield to Las Vegas. Not too much to say really. It's a desert with a long road through it. A few odd places along the way e.g service stations etc.

Definitely plan your drive to include sunset. If you're able to hit Baker on queue, that's where I think the most beautiful mountain views can be had in all directions. The entire experience of changing colors lasts about an hour. (Fill your gas tank before...More

On our way down to Joshua Tree we decided to make a pit stop here at Mojave. We did a quick drive through and stopped for pictures but there are campgrounds and trails here. You could spend an entire day here and then some.
