My husband and I have been driving up this gorgeous coastline for the past two weeks, and have never experienced a drive as beautiful as this one. Every turn brings an even better scene to admire or photograph. Be sure to check the on road conditions before you set out to make sure the highway is open. Mudslides, rockslides, construction,... We drove from San Francisco to Los Angeles in three days. The coastal route is very scenic. You will need more time if you want to see all the sights on route. You have motels everywhere so there you can stop wherever you want. The final coastal part to Los Angeles is fantastic.

Miles of the most beautiful California scenery. Plenty of spots for pictures, camping, surfing, etc. Can be a bit of a rough drive in spots for those that get car sick, but keep your Dramamine or Bonine handy and you'll be fine.

Me and my wife drove from LA to San Francisco. We stopped for 2 sleep nights, one night in Cambria and one at Carmel. The first part of the trip (LA to Cambria) is mostly thru the mountains. It was a 4 hours drive. Cambria is a small but very very nice cozy town. The second part, from Cambria to... More

Wow simply awe inspiring drive from SF to LA. The views the vistas. Traffic was very easy driving was good. Make sure to go south not north so you can fully appreciate the scenery. Don't forget to stop to see the seals. Very neat.

This is probably one of the best highway drives you can do. We drove from Halfmoon Bay where we were staying to Carmel. The scenery is unbelievable. You will not be disappointed. Take your time and savor Mother Nature!

We drove from the Monterey Peninsula down to Pfeiffer State Park in Sig Sur. It.was.amazing. The views, both the shore and the land, were so beautiful. There are many places to pull over and take pictures and a couple spots with paths closer to the water. You also don't want to miss the picturesque Bixby Bridge. You can also see... More

This is the real America. Beautiful views from every turn. Not the fastest way to travel but maybe the best. Rocks and ocean views. All I can say is this is a worthwhile drive and it is awesome.
