I love camping with my horse at Coldwater Recreation Area, however, each time I've been there other campers allow their dogs to run loose and charge at passersby. I camp with my dog, too, who is ALWAYS leashed, tied or kenneled. One time, a Great Dane charged us so hard he almost broke his neck, thank goodness he was tied... More

This without a doubt My all time favorite place to ride. The trails are open and well marked. The bath houses are roomy and kept clean on a daily basis. I have made my to this park as many times as possible since 1988. I have never had a bad camping trip. This a place where you can take any... More

Two camp ground are located adjacent and each has camping, tent, RV, electric or not. At Bear Lake campground you can fish in the lake and pets are allowed. There is a small fishing dock. Jon boats can launch and there are canoes but I think you have to rent them at the Ranger office. Gate is staffed during daylight... More

What a disappointment! Researching for a while on a place to hike while in NW Florida and settled on Blackwater River. Found lots of maps with trails highlighted, even saw signs AT THE PARK with trails highlighted. Started walking and found nothing; just a bunch of woods with no clearly marked or travelled trails. Backtracked and looked at the sign... More

48 miles of horse trails, a cristal clear river to kayak on, camp grounds, facilities, stalls for horses, turnout area and round pen. Peaceful quiet, canoes, kayaks, and horses for rent. Guided horseback trailrides available. If you want to get away from it all and dissappear into God's country the Coldwater recreation area is the place. Krul and Bear lakes... More

Nice forest with plenty of things to do. Mountain bike trails are not challenging but good hiking and camp areas. There are also some good sandbar areas people use for swimming.
