My lady friends and I stayed in a private cabin for a week. The setting was pristine - we could swim (even though the lake is chilly), kayak and hike. The islands are only accessible by boat. On the southern edge of Michigan's upper penninsula there is a group of small islands called the Les Cheneaux Islands. Cross the Bridge to the UP and head east on M134 to a small town called Hessel. If you don't like wave running around in circles you have visit Michigans Upper Peninsula. We stayed at the St Ignace Hotel and Casino, had a beautiful lake view. Recieved ten dollars free casino money for each night we stayed. Packed a lunch and launched at the marina in Hessel. Wore a full wetsuit the first day out, but took... More
