We stayed at the campground on Pintler Lake at 6300-foot elevation, 30 miles west of Wise River, Montana. There are 2 campsites with fire-rings and picnic tables. I went on a two week backpacking trip through these mountains, and we only saw other people once, at the first lake we reached from the trailhead (which was huge). Says it all - or at least most. Just absolutely breath taking. Not even sure how i got into this area in mid September. Easy to get into amazing scenery with no one else in sight.

A group of 19 friends from all over the U.S. gathered in the area for a week, what a pleasure!! We visited all over this area of Montana. If you have a Snowmobile, be sure to have a guide take you to Blizzard Mountain!! Great view and wonderful Pictures!!

The whole area is just plain spectacular and breath taking with so much to do from fishing, boating, camping, hiking and site seeing. There is lots and lots of history in Anaconda and Butte with tours for the whole family. We stayed a week and could have spent another one. We drove to a little town called Wisdom and the... More
