The Bear tooth Highway between Montana and Wyoming is not for the fainthearted, climbing to 10,900ft and requiring driving around hairpin bends. But it definitely is worth the effort! Care needs to be taken with the weather forecast. But if the elements are on your...More

We did this Highway Not only Once but Twice in 48 Hours. Awesome riding with sightseeing that is breathtaking. The switchbacks are phenomenal and riding takes on a new perspective.

Another beautiful drive in Montana and a good way to get to Yellowstone Park. It makes some people sick with the switch backs. It was 90 degrees at the bottom and snowing at the top. The views and lakes are beautiful.

Slow & scenic drive - we had to pay special attention to the hairpin turns & steep inclines on the Beartooth highway - it was a thrilling experience. The views are spectacular and we saw some hang gliders & mountain goats - the gliding looked...More

Closed because of snow except when they plow it for the three summer months! Go there. You will not forget it. Also visit Red Lodge.

I certainly recommend doing this drive. We drove the road in a RV and it is doable. It is very beautiful and rugged. Different from any other drive we tried. You see the road from above in the film "Horse Whisperer", and that's how we...More

After doing the Icefields parkway earlier in the week this was somewhat of a letdown but beautiful just the same. We left Butte in the morning and had a day to drive through Yellowstone on our way to Billings to fly home to Mich. A...More

We went the 12th of July, and the road condition was splendid. However, the road had just reopened that morning after having been closed for two days due to snow, so I guess you'll never know in July. Perhaps August is... More

Want to do Beartooth Hwy in August. We will be starting and stopping in Billings as we will need to drop our horse trailer to make the drive. Trying to decide if we want to drive to the summit and Top of the World then turn around and go downhill back to Billings or do a loop byway of Beartooth to include Chief Joseph and back to Billings by way of Belfry, MT. Which will be the shorter driving time and safest (flatlander from the east coast) of these two routes?

Check that it's more like 125 miles or so given the speed limit figure about three hours but like I said we did not go to Cody so it should be a shorter drive
