We hiked Mt. Willard 3.2 miles with a 2 and 4 year old. I always look for "short-ish" hikes that give a lot of bang for your buck and that's this trail! It's extremely steady in its climb so there are no overly strenuous parts just slow and steady wins the race type. My 4 year old managed the whole... More

Our hike started across from Crawford train station. This is a short hike but what a beautiful view from the top. It's worth it.

Overlooking Crawford Notch, Mount Willard is a short 3.2 mile round trip hike from the train station at the base on 302, where there is a gift shop, bathrooms and free parking. The trail itself begins elevating immediately and consistently for the entire length, with few flat stretches. The trail is littered with rounded cobbles, boulders and tree roots, but... More

A tourist train goes through this, used to be a mailnline. AMC runs a facility here for dining, lodging, gear for hiking.

We were back in New Hampshire this past July and in fact have been vacationing in the region for over 20 years. Along the 302 on route to North Conway traveling east and after the Mount Washington Hotel you will go through Crawford Notch. The drive is spectacular as you travel through the Notch with mountain views in each side... More

After driving the Mt. Washington Auto road, we decided to back track a bit to Rt. 302 west and head toward Crawford Notch. There are more lovely views of the mountains here. We got out to view the Silver Cascade and Flume Cascade falls right off the highway. There are also other falls along this route to which you may... More

We passed through Crawford Notch as part of a scenic drive whilst staying in the White Mountains. The views are spectacular together with Saco Lake and the history surrounding Wiley House. There is an information building, toilets and a café which wasn't open when we visited. Well worh a visit!

US 302 in the White Mountains is a beautiful scenic drive. Many places to stop and enjoy the beauty of Mother Nature. Along the way there is The Silver Cascade and The Flume. Also there is a really neat old Iron Bridge called Iron 4....you can stop and take a short walk out to it, it overlooks the river. There... More

This trail is difficult to rate because the distance is relatively short, a little over 3.2 miles round trip. The views are spectacular and the trail goes through the deciduous forest without views on the way up. I say difficult to rate because while you are climbing almost 900 feet in elevation, the way up did not seem all that... More

I love the mountains coming from Colorado so this was nice for New England. We stopped there from a train ride from North Conway. We spent an hour there and we looked around the area and took a nice walk around the Saco lake. Beautiful. If you get a chance, it worth a stop.
