This hike along the Zealand River up to the hut has been long remembered as an easy hike. On this snowy day in October we were amazed at the stunning beauty of woodlands and swamp in their winter drapery. We hiked to the hut and...More

Flat almost all the way to the top, then you’ll hit a steeeep incline for a bit, stick it out! It’s the final stretch before the top. Great little cabin about 3/4 the way up to stop at for the bathroom or a snack :)

Nice wide trail and mostly flat. Few sections early with roots and the like and the last 1/10 of a mile is steep stairs but for the White Mountains this is an easy trail and muffins and lemonade for a couple bucks await you at...More

Recently hiked the trail with our Husky and young son. Parking is $5 and by 8:30AM on a Saturday the lot was full so there is a lot of foot traffic. Nice trail and only the last 1/4 mile or so is a staircase. Our...More

This is a gorgeous hike, really picturesque in so many places. My husband and I brought our dog and made it to the hut in about an hour and forty minutes, and we're kind of average-paced, experienced hikers. The trail is well-maintained and you never...More

The parking fee is 3$ for a day. The trails are extremely well maintained and quite easy to hike through. (Beware my fellow clumsy hikers who tend to trip a lot! Beware of the roots and rocks sticking out!) Around 20 minutes into the woods,...More

Zealand Trail is, by comparison, one of the easiest and most colorful trails in New Hampshire. Gentle hike up tree-root exposed trail past several scenic marshes and ponds. Zeland Falls is picture perfect -- best photographed from rocks 50 yards downstream. Strongly recommend the 1/4...More

We thoroughly enjoy the entire Appalachian Mountain Club trail hut experience. Each Hut is unique in its own way but to Kathleen & I the Zealand Hut and Falls area is the cream of the crop. A very gradual, highly scenic and well maintained 2.8...More

We hiked this trail during a recent visit the white mountains. The drive to the trailhead is pretty itself. Be prepared though because the road is eventually unpaved. There is also a day use $3 fee. You can pay at the trailhead. The lot is...More

What I recommend is you take the Ethan Pond trail at the junction below the hut with Zealand Trail. Follow Ethan Pond for less than a mile and you will find some flat fairly obvious tenting sites on the right-hand side... More

As of this past weekend the Zealand Rd leading to Zealand Trail is open. Generally the road will be open in November unless there is a lot of snow. Zealand Hut itself is a self service hut, you can call AMC to reserve... More
