We'll definitely spend more time in the White Mountains next time around after having an excellent afternoon hiking Arethusa Falls trail (about 3 hours back and forth; easier on the way down than up). We spent about an hour after reaching the falls enjoying our...More

Decent reward for very little effort to walk to these falls. Great to do on a hot day as well as the cool spray is refreshing.

We took the Arethusa trail (1.6 miles one-way), but skipped the Bemis Trail. It’s an uphill climb to the falls with lots of rocks and roots to navigate. Definitely wear sturdy shoes, pack water and a snack. Large parking area, but no facilities

Moderate hike to a stunning waterfall, about 3-4 miles round trip. Plenty of hikers of all levels, including small children. Well worth it for the views at the falls!

We aren't experienced hikers but had no trouble with this one. It's definitely a climb, not a walk, but easily doable and well worth it for the views. We went at a slow pace and took about 3 hours round trip. If you take the...More

3 mile out and back hike! This is a great hike to do on a rainy day. With so many gorgeous views on other hikes, this hike does not need a clear sky to enjoy the sights! Add the Bemis trail to this out/back hike....More

I have hiked this about 5 times and always had a great time. It takes a few hours round trip, and is a great spot for a picnic once you make it to the falls. It is open all year round, so pack your snow...More

This is a great early morning hike, in the cool of the day it helps with the amount of effort you will need. To see the falls just as the sun hits it is absolutely amazing. If you like a hike with a purpose, get...More

Only one hour one way but worth the trip. Steady climb with some level spots to catch your breath. Some blow down on the trail requiring a limbo dance to proceed on this day. Final path to the falls is downhill but remember you're coming...More

My husband and I are both in our 50’s and in good shape. Still, this is NOT an easy hike to the falls. I would characterize the trail as moderate, and chock full of rocks, roots, and ruts. But, the falls are breathtaking!
