Not what I expected. Did like the town of Madrid, lots of shopping and when there is a festival that is pretty awesome. Very artsy colony type thing. The drive is nice from Albuquerque to Santa Fe, slow going though. Speed limit is 50 mpgs...More

We were on our Harley's & took this trail! Lots of beautiful things to see. The road itself was very smooth too!

Great drive between Albuquerque and Santa Fe, especially with the top down on the convertible and a stop at the shops on Madrid.

The map and the website indicates that there is much more to the Turquoise trail than what you really find. The best spot along the highway between SantaFe and Albuquerque is Madrid. It is a revived coal mining town with funky houses, shops and eateries....More

Yes, most attractions, museums, and galleries are open on Mondays. One business closed on Mondays is Henderson Store in Golden.

We were there in Dec 2015-a lot of snow, not sure of the exact speed limit but it is definitely weather dependent.
