Chilly day, 34 degrees. Stayed plenty warm going up. Stopped to eat a snack at the top and didn't warm back up until near the bottom. There's not really anywhere to sit at the summit, and we had to scale some rock to get to the tippy top. Not too difficult going up, a little scary climbing back down.

I'm from the northeast, and one of the reasons I no longer hike is because views from the summit appears uninspiring. There are two entrances to the trail, the North and the South. The North trail parking lot is to the left of the freeway with the accompanying parking lot to the immediate right. The South trail is a bit... More

Wow, wow , wow so beautiful the view of the almost highest cost line of Oregon. The weather was so super nice, sunny with some clouds and blue skies. If you have the change to stop on the highest viewing point please do it. It is heaven on earth

We were just passing through this area and were running short of time to make the hike so we stopped at the Wayfinding Point to take in the views of the coast. Not a bad way to spend 15 or so minutes.

The views are excellent along the hike. We walked from the north trail head. Nice views of Short Sand Beach and Oswald West State Park. The fabulous view from the top looks south and we could see for 20 miles (Nehalem Bay, Cape Meares, Three Arch Rocks, & Cape Lookout).

We had a little bit of a disappointing time at Neahkahnie, but only because it was so smokey because of the wildfires that seeing the view was very, very difficult. We took the South Trail up the mountain, and it was about 3 miles round trip. Make sure you go on a day when it isn't smokey so you can... More

So it's 100 degrees in Portland, Or so we decided to beat the heat and head to the coast to hike Neahkahnie Mountain. It was 76 degrees and beautiful views. There are two parts South and North. The beginning is North. But if you want a quick 3 mile hike start at the South end. The beach was so nice... More

It took me an hour and a half to hike the 3 miles RT and take photos at the top. The summit is a little confusing- I wandered around on 1 ridgeline before realizing there was a higher ridgeline. The only real place to get lost would be if you turned onto the access road towards the top of the... More

We hiked up the south route and want to go back to hike the north side. The views from the top were fantastic. It's a bit of a scramble at the very top, but worth the work. Even though it had rained hard the day before, this trail drained well and there was almost no mud.
