This appeared to be an older campground. It's very pretty and only accessible after a long 12 or so mile drive off Highway 101,, but loops A and D (only ones open last month) are very different. So beware if you're booking through Reservations America. We chose our spot on a First Come First Serve basis, and were in Loop... More

We had travelled south from Vancouver Island, and this was the first beach our 12 year old son could swim at. It is well protected by its narrow mouth out to the ocean, and is therefore relatively safe, and shallow. We stayed at the state park site a short walk away. All in all lovely.

Located on Cape Arago highway just prior to Cape Arago, this is a very popular camping and picnic area. There is camping available at this State Park. The cove makes this a great place to play in the water.

We travel every year to stay at Sunset Bay State Park and go see the Shore Acre Botanical Garden Lights. This park is clean and nice. Of course it is always winter time, wet and cold. But it is our go to place. Thank you Sunset Bay State Park.

When visiting our family in Charleston, OR we always make a point to visit the state park and coastline. Great trails, sites, animal watching and picnicking. We stayed the state park on one occasion and our site was great. Would stay again.

Stayed here in the middle of summer and spent three days in deep fog. This campground is off on a point away from Coos Bay and more in the ocean area. If the weather is great then this would be a great place to stay with forested sites that would be comfortable in hot weather. The site has not phones... More

We've stayed at Sunset Bay SP twice in the last several years, once tent camping but most recently in our 5th wheel. The park is well maintained, clean and a short walk to the ocean. Lots of spaces for all kinds ... lots ! But the reason I only gave it 2 stars is how dark and dismal it is!!... More

Very nice park. Only negative was problems with hot water in showers. Trails were great. Overall a great place to visit.

This was our favourite park - the sites were well apart and nicely treed with lots of bushes. The site we were in had water, electricity and sewer. The park was quiet and within short distances of several "must see" attractions. Simpson's Reef is not to be missed.
