Wow. Needles highway is amazing. The drive is worth the trip. Take some extra time and make sure to go and at least see the needles. The views are absolutely stunning. Swing into sylvan lake and check that out too. Such a beautiful part of...More

I cannot recommend this drive enough. This is a MUST DO! We rented a convertible and the drive was amazing. You truly do have to drive very slow, 20-35 mph. Drive the hair pin turns, switchbacks and through the narrow tunnels. One of which you...More

I'm so glad we learned about this. It was one of the most interesting and beautiful things we've done so far. The one lane bridges were incredible. We saw deer and chipmunks but no buffalo.

If you are visiting Mt. Rushmore, you don't want to miss the Needles Highway. I've never seen any rock formations like this. Spectacular! And the tunnels were just as awesome. A must road Trip!!

The Needles Highway is a must do if you come to the Black Hills. Great views of pine trees, canyons, granite pinnacles and projections, lakes, one way tunnels, mountains, vistas, and of course the Needle itself. Don't miss it. Expect to be thrilled.

A must-see in this area. Beautiful scenery. The road seems well maintained. Places to pull-off to side to take pictures and also to wait your turn thru the tunnels. So cool they can build a road right thru the rock!

Took this path ad the last stretch of our day. We had already done the wildlife loop and the iron mountain road. Honestly it was fun but we had already been on more interesting roads like the drive up to Mount Coolidge Tower. I would...More

Hi, Please see crazy horse from close not on the evening lights. Mt. Rushmore must be your evening lights view time. You can try to cover the sylvan lake in the middle but do visit Custer for the animals... More
