After a while, a weary traveler in southeastern Utah begins to wonder if the number of scenic highways and overlooks and vistas will ever run out. How many of them are there? Do I have time to experience all of them? One that shouldn't be...More

This is by far the best route from Grand Junction to Moab. The road starts off seemingly going the wrong way - don't miss the right hand turn to go to Moab - and is pretty blah. About 15 minutes into the drive everything changes!...More

Thank you so much for the tip!! It was wonderful. The extra time was well worth it - it's the journey that counts, not the destination!! Besides, this route was as good as any National Park!

Was told to take this route from Colorado to Moab, UT and was NOT disappointed. The scenic byway was fantastic and added a few miles, but well worth it. We also took it home too!

Some of the views on this road are quite stunning. Definitely worth a trip if heading towards Moab. Just try to watch the road....

Definitely add this to the list. Quiet drive. Gorgeous views. Recommend the hike near the entrance at Grandstaff Canyon. Partly shaded but better early in the morning.

This is a beautiful drive through famous cowboy film locations. You can also link it up with a visit to Red Cliffs Lodge and the Film Museum to find out about all the films made in the area.

If coming from or going to Colorado on I70 do not miss this road it is beautiful and far more scenic than 191 with numerous beautiful ranches, side routes you could take if you wanted and of course superb views. It adds maybe 15 minutes...More

This is an awesome scenic byway on the way in our out of Moab, UT. Running along the Colorado river, there are too many breathtaking views to mention. Take your time, pull over occasionally and enjoy God's wondrous creation!

Actually, we thought it did not make 5 minutes of difference. The other route uses 191 to get to I-70 but it takes you about 30 miles further west on I-70. Go on 128, You will love it! Stunning scenery and a great road.

We drove Hwy 128 once with our 32' 5th wheel & it was fine. UNLESS you're only used to interstate driving, in which case this road might seem a bit daunting. If possible, take it on a weekday; weekends get especially crazy... More

Hi, I agree with the person above. It is a windy road. Not sure I would want to take some of the turns if there was snow. BUT, it is so worth the drive.
