We had seen a magazine article about this town and decided if we had time we would visit. So glad we made time to stop by. This was a really neat place. The farm homes are in good condition. The building used for school/church/meeting house...More

Not far from Zion Park is this true and original film set from the famous western movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. It's actually a little bit of a place that give you the creeps, especially the cemetery close by. It's not easy to...More

We happened to be watching Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid before our trip to Utah and learned that some of the movie (bicycle scene in particular) was filmed here. Grafton is definitely off the beaten path. The atmosphere is authentic and the free Historic...More

We love "abandoned America" and were looking forward to seeing these buildings. Sadly, they had been "restored" and several buildings had a fresh coat of paint. The cemetery was odd with many older graves having been replaced with shiny new ones. It was quite dull.

Our family visited Grafton on the way to Zion National Park. It was a little hard to find, but worth the time. It is a beautiful little ghost town. I had viewed several websites describing it and had thought that there would be more buildings....More

Just a short drive off the beaten path to and from Zion. Grafton has an interesting history and several buildings that were part of the original town have been reconstructed or rebuilt. There is a brochure with a map of the town and a couple...More

We heard about Grafton while spending a few days in Springdale and decided to swing by on our way out of town. The cemetery was fascinating; a marker explains the significance of some of the graves, and really makes you think about how brave our...More

This is an historic site with a few buildings preserved from the time of early Mormons arriving along the Virgin River. There is also a cemetery dating to this time period. While this is probably not a place that would interest children, anyone interested in...More

I recommend visiting Grafton on your own. There are dirt roads, but they are not difficult to negotiate. There is no entrance fee.
