17 mile drive that twisted and turned up the mountain on a clear day was a spectacular start to our Pacific NW family trip. The hike was the icing on the cake. The road is well constructed but very twisty and the drops on one side are sheer so drive carefully. On a sunny day (as we had) they're ray to drive (the speed limits are low - for Brits, it's just a matter if getting used to being on the other side). The views are spectacular on a clear day. Just be careful during the winter months as the road gets quite slick! However, they sanded the road right before we drove up.
