The Lincoln Memorial was great to see in person. There was a lot of people there but the memorial is so large that it didn't seem crowded.

Building with stairs to climb up to Lincoln famous statue. Interesting quotations in the basement. Lots of very noisy people at any time day and night, breaking the atmosphere: the panel "Quite and respect" doesn' t work very well...

It is an impressive monument. And it gives you a nice view over the Mall. Don't forget the small exhibition 'downstairs'.

One of our most beautiful spots. Loved the history and beauty of this monument. Beautiful place to start your visit to D.C.

The Lincoln Memorial is beautiful. It is also about 20 degrees cooler inside so that's a definite plus on a hot day after the long walk there AND the blue million steps to get to it. It's crowded, so there will be people all up in your pictures and your personal space. There's a nice little gift shop inside.

During our time in Washinton D.C. we walked the National Mall all way up and down. We have been to the Lincoln Memorial and Abraham Lincoln is huge and overwhelming. The view over the National Mall is great too.

Must see monument. No matter what time you go (open 24 hours) you can see it and it's not too crowded (due to all the space).

Go at night, also go in the day. This is an important place and helps you to understand the anachronisms of current day USA. Iconic place which has been witness to so many important events. take a few minutes to sit and think, read the address and marvel!

What a feeling it was to walk into the memorial and look up into the face of President Lincoln. The statue was so much bigger than I expected! I'm not a history buff at all, and know even less about American history, but immediately upon walking in I was smacked by the historical significance of this place. From Lincoln's statue,... More
