    Great Place!
Had a great time exploring this play place. The employees were even dressed up as secret agents! They even had little fake guns they would point at me and say all sternly "Get out or we will shoot!". I loved the different rooms with fun themes, like the defense headquarters, and the bomb room. I even met an alien!

    Highly recommended tour!
This was one of my favorite tours in DC. The place is enormous. Security is tight and a security clearance must be done in advance. In addition to displays from all branches of the military, our guide took us to the 911 display inside where we could see exactly where the terrorists plan came thru the building. there is also an outdoor memorial to those who lost their lives on 911.

    A so-so experience
We expected a little more in-depth info during our Pentagon tour, like maybe how the building is laid out, which floors dedicated to what, etc. Our first guide, female USAF, was easy to hear, but the second male Army guide spoke too fast & was difficult to hear. There are numerous display cases throughout hallways, but really no time to even look at them. I did like their focus on 9/11, exhibit, chapel, etc. Outdoor 9/11 memorial NOT included in tour—you must walk around parking lot on your own to see this—definitely a must-see. I appreciated being allowed inside Pentagon and understand secrecy, but feel we left with little more than seeing shops and hallways.

Very large, bigger than I was expecting. Another must see attraction if you are in Washington. Located on the way out/in to the city, for those who just want to see the building, the highway leading away from Washington towards Virginia drives right past it.

You have to book online no more than 3 months in advance for this, and don't get authorisation until very close to your requested date. We got our authorisation for the tour on the day beforehand! It's totally Free Of Charge (as are most things in D.C.), and is well worth the visit. Obviously, being the main seat of American defence, the entry procedures are extremely strict and there is no photography anywhere near the Pentagon, let alone inside. If you try to get a camera out, good luck trying to hide it from the security patrols and hungry looking dogs! The interior is absolutely huge. The tour guides walk backwards while talking and don't stop at each point for very long. Very surreal seeing civilians and official forces staff going about their daily work while you're walking around what is effectively their office space! The facts about the Pentagon are interesting, ie, the length of time it takes to walk around the building, the fact that 14 people are employed just monitor and change lightbulbs. The 9/11 memorial, close to where the 9/11 plane hit, is a poignant reminder, and although the gardens were closed for maintenance at our visit, I would imagine the area to be a great reflective space. Absolutely loved this tour. Would definitely recommend it.

THEY SAY MORE IS MORE….

….which is something I finally began to understand after viewing this; the biggest office building in the world.
I mean the place has its own SUBWAY STOP and BUS STATION (and I noticed many bus departures were for places not close to the DC area).
Lack of time and uncertainty of visiting date meant I didn’t book a tour, but simply walking around the outside of this place gave me a good idea of how awesome it is. Particularly when it seemed to be shift-change time with thousands of employees heading for the transport facilities.

Is it worth the visit if you have no internal tour arranged? Well to me it was – just an oversight of the awesome size was enough, but I was given an extra moving bonus of being able to access the 9-11 MEMORIAL** outside. A definite plus.

TIPS – access to the area for non-drivers is a breeze. DC’s good metro can get you from central city to the PENTAGON stop in 12 mins.
But public parking is not available – nearest is PENTAGON CITY MALL** (10 mins walk).
- it’s maybe not such a good idea to take pix of the building. I didn’t know, and no authorities jumped me – hence the pix with this report. But those authority people have no senses of humour. Not a good bunch to mess with.
- one exterior area you can photograph and is worth a visit is the 9-11 MEMORIAL SITE** near the south-west corner of the building. Very moving. Note it will be closed for renevations until late May 2020.

We attended a ceremony here one day and thoroughly enjoyed finally having the opportunity to see inside this amazing building. It’s HUGE inside, like a city! They have tons of restaurants as well as other places a city would have, like dentist, dry cleaners, shoe shine and even a DMV!
They have many many pictures, art and displays on walls and in various areas which depict times in history which were notable and they do a great job capturing the importance of the event.
It’s a highly secure facility, which means it can take an hour to get through security to gain entry, but it’s well-worth the effort! If you have the opportunity to visit The Pentagon, Do It!!!

The Pentagon tour was very structured and informative. The tour guides are military personnel and deeply care about their duty to inform the public of the history of the military branches. The tribute to the victims of the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon was very moving. No photos are allowed during this tour. There is a small gift shop but it wasn't opened at the time of my tour. I recommend this tour for anyone interested in military history.

Our son, who works at the Pentagon, took us on a personalized tour. A couple of takeaways: lots of offices, shopping, a clinic and beautiful outdoor plaza in the middle. Took a while to get in, even with military IDs, multiple checkpoints and airport-type scanning. The corridors are lined with photos and military relics that would make a museum proud.
