Fun and interesting, however I was not as impressed as I thought I'd be, especially compared to the Natural History an Air/Space Museums. Still a "must-see" though!

Fun museum for the whole family. Excellent displays of American life. Look out for Julia Childs kitchen. The sort of place that will keep six year olds happy.

We took the metro to Federal Central Station where you have to take a 10 minute walk to the main entrance. You get your bags checked and have to walk through a scanner on entering. It's free to get in and you can walk around...More

Spent an entire day here, got there at 1030, left about 5. Loved every minute. Lots to see and interact with. Had a snack in the cafe, not spectacular but decent food to keep you going through the rest of the museum. Disappointed the First...More

I was expecting more from this museum. The fact that it s free to go in is definitely a plus (most museums in Washington are free). They do have some interesting trains, cars and Julia Child s kitchen which was fun. I also enjoyed seeing...More

More history than you can absorb! Lots to see and take in. There are several floors of exhibits. We were there during September and it was nice and cool in the building. It's amazing how many exhibits they can house under one roof! It's a...More

To tell the truth, a day after touring the museum, all I can remember is that there was an exhibit of First Lady dresses. I guess nothing else sood out. I do remember that there were lots of kids running around and being very loud....More

Last time I was in DC this museum was closed for remodeling. Don’t know what it was before but it is great. There is a little something for all ages to see. Being in the 50’s age group it was a nostalgic trip for me....More

You could spend hours in this museum and not see everything. The museum covers a lot of US history and has very interactive and interesting museums. There are many tourists visiting these museums so try and go in the morning or evening.

Yes! The kitchen is why we chose this museum among our first to see. If I remember correctly it is the first floor past the the info booth to the left then the immediate left. Have a wonderful time!

Ruby Slippers had their last day on display the day I was there. They were to be replaced by The Indiana Jones hat and whip. Julia child's kitchen is great to see if you ever saw the show or liked her as a cook. IT was... More
