1. Entrance is on opposite side of building than than tidal basin where buses drop you off. There is a small alley way next to the Holocaust museum. Don't go the other way... it's a dead end and you'll only add more steps to your step count and aching feet. 2. You will probably have to wait. We arrived at... More

We came on a weekday in February, and were able to walk right in without a ticket. Our tour group was small--5 people. You basically see a couple of printing presses with the paper running through it, and see the final sheets of paper. It wasn't a very long tour, and could have been done much better and with better... More

We booked this tour about a month ago, when we got there we saw a short movie then taken for the tour (there was 12 of us). We were told the same things on the tour as the movie and found out they were remodeling so we couldn't see everything we thought we were. We should have been told of... More

Apparently there are four stations to this tour but the one I took on Feb. 7th at 1:00pm, we saw one station. To put this in perspective, I spent more time waiting for the train at Pentagon City on the way there than the amount time that the tour took. We saw them putting paper in a machine and then... The staff and security were friendly and helpful. Like most of D.C. anymore must go through a security checkpoint. Informative short tour but they are replacing some of the machines so part of the tour closed. If looking for a break from the museums and memorials nice change.

We took our kids here as we thought it working would be nice to see some currency being printed. However, only two of the four stations were open and we did not get to see any working printing presses. The tour was only 10 mins or so after watching a 15 minute video. Given there is so much to see... More

Worth a visit if you've never been. However, if you've never been to DC before, wouldn't be high up on my list of places to visit, maybe for a second/ third visit if you have time. Guided tour was great, guide very knowledgable and upbeat.

If you are planning your DC itinerary, don't put this on it. If you have time and can drop in, it's okay. I would not recommend waiting in any line to see this. We live locally and like to visit the museums during the winter when the tourist traffic is very light. We walked into the Bureau as a tour... More

I wasn't able to get a tour since I came after 2:00 PM but the building from inside and outside was beautiful and impressive and the shop was open so I was able to go inside and see the great displays at the lobby

Don't go out of your way for this one. Interesting to see the printing presses. Kids seemed mildly impressed. Plan ahead as you may need to wait for an hour or more on a busy day for a tour. Reminder that it is not the US mint, so no coin production. If your time is limited, I would pass and... More
