I stumbled upon this one accidentally, it’s right next to the Holocaust Memorial Museum ....just made it in time for the last tour of the day which was around 2:00 pm. The tour was free and really cool. The tour guide Jack was excellent and...More

This is a free tour, and it takes you through the making of US bank notes, and the history behind them, and ends with a historic collection to be viewed. The place was in full operation while we were there so we were able to...More

We visited the bureau on a quiet Friday and were lucky to join a tour five or ten minutes after entering the building. The inside of the building is not nearly as impressive as the outside. The tour route is pretty plain and worn. However,...More

Tour guide, Jack, was really good. Overall it wasn't that exciting of a place. For being a currency printing facility, the building itself is in rough shape. I would rather spend my time checking out a different museum.

We were excited about visiting. It was very interesting to see the process of how our bills are made. I would recommend visiting the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to everyone.

My family visited with our school group. We arrived 4 minutes late due to the bus not having access to the drop off location. When we arrived, the security was high strung and yelled at us for being late and attempted to embarrass our group...More

Nice place to visit. The guide was pleasant, knowledgeable, and easy to understand. I only wish we had time to read some of the information posted on the walls as we were led through the tour. You could watch the employees work and many waved....More

This is a great place to visit for all ages. Almost everybody handles money daily and this is one of the few places where it is made. The process is not that difficult but it is interesting to see the steps involved. Few of us...More

After a previously unsuccessful attempt to visit a while back, we made it this time. After the inevitable security screening, there is a short video that describes the process and then a guide takes you through the various steps mentioned in the video. It's really...More

We pre-booked through our state senator's office. I would recommend booking ahead of time for any tour in D.C. Check the website.

I believe there is a separate entrance. You might call ahead and get the name of the street to enter.

It's mostly a guided tour for about 25 minutes so one hour should be enough. There are a few displays in the ending area.
