This museum had so much to see. It was extremely crowded, as we went during spring break. Still enjoyable, there is something to interest everyone. We did't want to leave. I can't even say what our favorite was! Perfect for all ages!

We were going to skip this one since we've been to the natural history museum in New York. But we wanted to see the national parks Imax movie. We ended up going through a lot of the museum - the hope diamond and lots of other gems, nat geo pictures exhibition, and bug zoo.

The museum is simply wonderful and has something for everyone. The only negative is the price and quality of the food in the cafe (expensive and not great). It's also large enough that even on a crowded day, it is not unbearable.

Wow. Great spaces, fantastic informational exhibits, great max movies...this is a great educational experience as evidenced by the number of student groups. Crowds are the issue here, but if you move strategically, you can cover a number of exhibits in good time. Becoming a member is a good idea and can save you money for the max movies and souvenir... Of course the DC museums are world class and this one is no exception. There is A LOT to see, probably more than you can take in in one day. Our family of four, two kids ages 12 and 10 really loved the Gems exhibit, where we went to specifically see the Hope Diamond, the Egyptian mummies and the Butterfly... More

It's always great to visit museums and especially when they are free. The only bad thing is when you bear closing time they really want you out of the place when it hits closing time. I mean they want you out 5 minutes before hand. Great place to visit but make sure you leave plenty of time before visiting.

We love the animals on display at this museum. We love the huge display of elephants and whale. Its really educational for the kids. We'll definitely come back here on our next visit to Washington..

This popular museum (beware of the line) had some great exhibits, including one on gems and minerals (including the Hope Diamond), and another on dinosaurs. We especially enjoyed a video devoted to exploring the ocean depths. Classy place with classy exhibits!

This is without doubt one of the best natural history museums in the world, We enjoyed a whole day here on a recent trip to Washington DC, the elephant in the foyer is amazing. The cafeteria also does a good mac and cheese

My son (age 7) said this was his favorite museum of all! Lots of interactive stations. We enjoyed the Mammals & Dinosaur exhibits the most. Also saw Dinosaurs Alive 3D in IMAX. Highly recommended.
