NGA is free admission, staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Gift store is well stocked and the restaurant is easy to get to. Very clean.

I went on a Tuesday morning, and there were no lines at all! It's a great exhibit. No tickets or timed entry required. It's one of the great public institutions in Washington that taxpayers support. ENjoy!

Yes, the National Gallery of Art is a federally funded museum and would close in case on government shutdown.
