I think this memorial in particular captured the suffering of servicemen through ornate carvings. The sandblasted plaque depicting scenes from the war was also very impressive and well thought through. well worth seeing this memorial.

The expressions on the young soldiers faces displayed everything from determination, hopelessness, fear, uncertainty, and anxiety as they pressed through under the harshest conditions imaginable....

This was my first time seeing this outstanding memorial which is close to Lincoln Memorial. It is an imaginative, eery memorial. The statues are so detailed that you feel you are watching soldiers. They are walking through bushes which adds to the dramatic feel.

Powerful memorial no matter what season experiencing it. You can feel the weight on the soldiers, and not only physically. Trudging through the snow, ghostlike, with huge packs on their shoulders. At night certain lights expose figures behind the writings in the wall. Very different...More

I had never visited the Korean War Veterans Memorial. There is a lot to a relatively small installation. Worth the time to visit. "Freedom is not Free"

What I Love about this Memorial is how the statues walk through the plants and give you a really „real“ impression of soldiers being out in the field.

Although the tour was conducted during the dark, the message was clear, we should not forget the sacrifice of human life for the common good.

? I didn’t say anything about Alan Alda so I don’t know where this is coming from. I think this is a beautiful, sacred memorial.

I feel certain that simply visiting / viewing this memorial and the figures presented will bring forth a flood of memories that only a veteran of this conflict would have. That alone is something special!

There is so much to see for free, that you will not have to pay for much. Eating is not the cheapest anywhere, but you're in DC. They're spending your money faster than you can! Enjoy!
