Located a hundred yards from the Lincoln Memorial is the Korean War Veterans Memorial. I walked around the memorial statures and wall and was awed with each step. It consists of nineteen, 7-foot tall, stainless steel statues of an American advance party walking through the...More

I haven’t been in this location for more than ten years and it was great to be back. A must see when in Washington.

As we looked over the Memorial and saw the amazing detail of the soldiers, we could feel what it must have felt like to be there.

This was my favorite Memorial. The statues are very life like and they are shown crossing a field of tall grass. Each solider has a different weapon, different stance and a look of concern/terror.

Having explored the "mall" for the majority of my life, this one tends to move me more than the nearby Vietnam Memorial. I wasn't alive for either war, so these memorials naturally affect me less than they do for others. I'm not sure exactly why...More

The Korean War Memorial is one of the best memorials in DC, if not the world. The memorial can clearly the anguish and sadness that they went through, something many memorials do not take advantage of. Go and see it if you have the chance.

For me this was a must because my husband Lee was in the Air force and flew his plane during this time in the Korean war. The way they have the men positioned on the field of honor was so moving for me. Look at...More

We visited this memorial with our son's school as chaperones. It is one of the most beautifully designed memorials in Washington DC. I loved the wall and reflections and the symbolism.

Not well lit and a real shame as it used to be and had water running in the "bogs". We've got to do better to keep this memorial up as it seems to be the lesser of the war memorials now.

Thank you for your service. There is no special daily event that is part of the monument although some service organizations meet there infrequently. Be advised that the winding path that ascends the monument has about 100... More

There is so much to see for free, that you will not have to pay for much. Eating is not the cheapest anywhere, but you're in DC. They're spending your money faster than you can! Enjoy!

The memorials are free, if you want to go up into the Washington Monument I would find out what day you will be there and pay the small fee online and get them ASAP!!
