I mean it is free, so you can't complain too much. But there are a lot of better zoos that are also free in the US. I will say the "O Line" and the pandas are pretty cool.

This is a great zoo which you can take public transit and walk to, since it's right in the middle of a neighborhood. The only time we have seen pandas, so worth the trip just for that. Also has a good gorilla exhibit.

My only gripe is that half the animals were not on display. But...it was 40 degrees out so....yeah, it's not their fault. Most of the secondary amenities, such as food stands, are shut down. Minimal human population present. Cute beavers. A worthwhile visit assuming the...More

The lights are beautiful and unforgettable! It was lots of fun - took lots of pictures! If you don’t like being around lots of kids, don’t go.

Zoos are always fun and to see the animals reminds you in this busy city how important and interconnected we all are with nature. During our venture the lions seemed to be making a special point of posing which thrilled our teenager.

The zoo was empty but the animals were active. They have the place decked out in lights for the holidays. Free admission as always with $22 for parking...fair trade.

We went to the National Zoo for Zoolights 2017 as my daughter-in- love wanted to go. She didn't steer us wrong! It was great fun and so pretty. It was a great way to begin our Christmas season!

It's easy to spend a few hours at this free zoo. As it is December, not all animals were out, although those that were looked healthy: cheetahs, zebras, Asian and African elephants, red pandas, seal, sea lions, warthogs, a sad orangutan, and of course the...More

It appears to be ADA compliant. There is paved paths everywhere, as others noted, there are some hills. I would recommend entering in the main entrance, see the panda area, then head to the green path, which slopes downward... More

I did see some people in wheel chairs. Building doors seemed wide. There were limited stairs but, if there were, there were elevators. I would say it is accessible.
