I've been walking this wonderful park again and again, just can't get enough. Follow the road or climb the trails, put your feet in the creek when they get to hot. It's a magic place and some parts are really very high and steep. It is HUGE you will probably only see a fraction but it will be worth it.... More

I spent a summer near Dupont Circle, and I really enjoyed running up to Rock Creek Park. What a really neat park right within the municipal area of Washington, DC. It offers miles of hiking or running trails, picnic areas, and a nature exhibit center. If you're visiting DC, this may not be high on your list of places to... More

Rock Creek Parkway and the park which surrounds it n both sides is an unparalleled gem unique to D.C. Snaking its narrow way from the Kennedy Center on the Potomac up to Connecticut Ave, then changing its name to Beech Drive as it passes the National Zoo, an old water mill, and miles of wooded bliss practically all the way... Living next to it for 3 months (via Soapstone Valley) in Van Ness, Rock Creek Park was a natural draw for a walker like me. In the first few weeks I gradually widened my walking until I covered all the major paths a few areas where there were none (when I got lost). US parks are not like those we... More

There are bike and walking trail. You feel like you are in a park HOWEVER this is as a commuter route through the park and can be very noisy.

Awesome trails and bike routes in the park, feels like you are outside of DC. Especially nice in the fall.

I loved to drive to and from work through Rock Creek Park. Though the scenery is ordinary and the Park is pretty narrow as you get near downtown, driving through there is a relief from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Then, in October it was closed for reconstruction -- and, it will remain closed at least till... More

A nice long park stretching from Maryland into Washington, D. C. Great for getting a little exercise for a few hours in a forested setting with some historical sites.

Fun and funky place with lots of activity. Insiders will be working with the horses but it appears that interested outsiders with respect for the animals can experience the presence of very special animals (as long as it does not get "discovered."

Unimaginable. Rock Creek Park has always been the backbone of Northwest Washington. There are so many ways to go in and out of the park to get to so many places, including to upper Northwest DC and into Maryland. It is large and beautiful, with many bridges, lush foliage, streams, birds and vistas. It is a refreshing way to explore... More
