We stayed in this area when we visited DC. You've obviously got the Capitol building itself, and it's also really near the train station. It's worth going at sunset to look at the sky over the Capitol.

The capitol visit was big but the tours are like mass movements. There is so many people. The tours are recommended and discuss a little about the history.

Awesome looking building we got up close to both sides of it. Heard a bit about what goes on inside and had the opportunity to go in but decided against it

This was not a good visit. We were herded around like cattle; I was told, after the fact, that if you go after 6pm, there are less people. I'll try that next time.
