We reserved our weekend tour about 3 weeks ahead of time to guarantee admission. The Capitol tour was about an hour long. It began with a 13 minute film and then led thru a few rooms, the rotunda, and the hall of statues. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see the House or Senate chambers. Would have given this tour 5... What a thrill and honor to be able to visit our Capitol in Washington, DC! We were given a free tour. Be sure to not bring food or drink into the Capitol. Security is strict. We saw a movie at first and then went with the tour guide, and each wore a headset to hear all he said. To actually... More

Spectacular building and architecture. We enjoyed the tour that took us inside and showed us the rooms were decisions are made. The ceiling and frescos in the rotunda and the room of statues for every founder of our states was great. Going from here to the Library of Congress was a great experience. Make advance travel request by contacting your... More

Whether wandering around and taking in the sights, or going somewhere with a goal in mind while in DC, this is a must do. Just being in the presence of the capitol and realizing the details of the exterior building, and architecture, and the importance of the location will leave someone in awe. Don't miss walking here at least once!

My comments are about the Capitol Hill area, not the Capitol itself. Our capitol is very accessible for both walkers and those in wheelchairs. We had a bit of time while visiting several days after the inauguration and walked around the Hill on a fair, sunny morning. As you would expect, security is tight. Every security officer we spoke with... More

Lots to see. Lot of security. We went there in the afternoon. Free tours and movie for all visitors. Very well organised tours and the tour guide will be with us till the tour is finishes and then we can go round and see the places which interests us. Repair work was going on when we went there. It was... More

We went there before the presidential inauguration. We just wanted to bring the children there to see the historic site. It was a Sunday afternoon. The place was crowded. Parking was a major issue. We stopped briefly before any police came to drive us away. If you want to truly spend a full day there, I would recommend public transportation.

On a day trip on a cold day - but no rain or snow - it was like we were the only ones there. We walked around the whole building and literally didn't see another soul. There were more security officers with guns in the little corners than there were people. We were really happy with how close we could... More
