Took a tour with the assistance from my local Congressman's Office and was given an intern as a tour guide. To our surprise she appeared knowledgeable and excited about talking about the history of the Capital Building. I would recommend anyone planning a visit to...More

This was not a good visit. We were herded around like cattle; I was told, after the fact, that if you go after 6pm, there are less people. I'll try that next time.

Unbelievably beautiful. Tour is excellent and opening movie should be mandatory for all Americans and wanna-be's.

Having been in the US Capitol many times this was my 1st time to enter through the visitors center. Must take 45 min. tour which includes a 13 min. film. Remarkable history and remarkable architecture.

To facilitate the best tour, get a timed entry pass from your Representative in the US Congress. If the Congress is in session, ask for a special pass to see the House and Senate in session. The tours are very well organized.

Of course, you have to go. We took a tour of the Capitol building and found it fascinating. While you can 'walk-in', we had our tour booked in advance by our congress representative (along with other tours). This is one of many places that you...More

It is worth the tour even if the scaffolding is still up.
