Quite different to other memorials, but like the flowing design and the way they are separated and the use of water. Tasteful and peaceful. Good place for quiet personal reflection. Great views and filled with quotes and key aspects of his presidency.

At this time in our country, I was deeply moved by the quotes of this president and his wife ~ giant slabs of granite where you walk through and experience the hopes and dreams we have yet to attain ~ near this beautiful pond with the gifts of cherry trees from the Japanese ~ a must see

A very tasteful and moving memorial with fountains, quotes, and beautiful arrangement. It is a peaceful walk through the area with quotes that help you to appreciate the philosophy of this remarkable American.

Lots of information here. They divided the Memorial into the 4 terms in which Roosevelt was elected. The quotes are impressive for the time period. There is a waterfall in each term. This Memorial is definitely dog friendly.

This is a simple but poetic memorial if you compare to the other memorials. But there is lots of statues and sentences along the place that make it special!

This memorial is totally a surprise in imagination and layout. The red granite from South Dakota is refreshingly different and spectacular geology. The layout of four plazas and fountain areas for each elected term is brilliant. We were really blown away by this tribute to FDR.

We walked around the tidal basin from the Washington Monument to the Jefferson Memorial and back . Took about 1 1/2 hours with some stopping and sitting on the benches. The Roosevelt Memorial is several monuments of Roosevelt quotes, Roosevelt's life story and scenes of Roosevelt. There is a statue of Eleanor that I had never seen before. Waterfalls are... More

You walk thru his different periods in the White house, and read his thoughts that are engraved on rocks, very progressive thinking, then you can walk on the water's edge to the other memorials.
