This is a beautiful church and the architecture and detail are amazing. It is quite extensive with a sanctuary in the basement including a place to light a candle.

Open to public. Just to see the ceiling is worth the trip. Gift shop has unique item, but can be pricey. If you want to attend Mass, go early - free parking is at a premium. The choir is AMAZING.

This place is beautiful , I'm catholic and for me this was a great experience, but even if you are not catholic just to go and see the building is a great experience.

This is a beautiful church that is huge. Actually the main church is on top of a smaller church down stairs. There is also a restaurant and very good gift shop down stairs. Traffic and parking was a slight problem but not a really big...More

We have been to many different cathedrals. This one is beautiful and ranks up there with St. Paul's cathedral in London. Well worth a visit.

The Basilica is an amazing reservoir of historic and interesting artifacts related to the Catholic Church. A person could wear out a pair of shoes touring the entire structure. The many blocks and bricks that are dedicated to persons and groups that have donated to...More

You don't have to be Catholic to enjoy the splendor. The Basilica is one of the most amazing and breathtaking places I have ever been. Plan on spending a few hours here. It's not someplace that is going to be a quick stop. A pair...More

It is so beautiful, must see in DC. Traffic is pretty bad, so plan your visit. I will make sure it is in my schedule on every visit.

To be able to enter the Basilica was to me an amazing experience. There really are no words that can express as to the grandeur of the Basilica. The statues, plaques, stations are breathtaking. A visit everyone should try to make regardless of your faith.

This is one of the hidden gems of DC. It is one of the top basilicas in the entire world. After living in DC for years I would rate this as one of the top 3 things in DC to see. (And I'm not Catholic.)

Yes it is!!! I did it myself to get there. It is also beautiful because you need to enter the Catholic university to get there. It is a short walk really. I recommend it.

There are many areas as well as another floor in the Basilica. We had a tour while there was a high school graduation mass in the main church.
