Part of traveling I think is to eat of the plate of diversity. The African American Nation has a history of struggles and victories. The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial is an iconic representation of this worldwide hero. It is free and open to the public. It sits near the water and it helps even when it is hot outdoors.... More

While visiting the area for our Family Reunion, we stopped at the Martin Luther King Memorial. A must see while on tour , we wanted to see all of the historical landmarks. I only wish that the statue had legs , his entire body. It was nice to read a lot of his quotes on the walls

Deeply moved by the quotes and the artists interpretations of this great and moral leader...carved and created from more than 150 blocks of incredible stone - AMAZING!

Beautifully made , such meaning such heart. We need him now there is more work to be done. A lot of thought went into creating this and should be read about when seen.

A great addition to the Memorial corner of the mall. The wall of quotes was inspiring. Great to compare with the Lincoln Memorial which is a 5 minute walk away.

We visited this place during an evening tour and was quite cool walking in with it all lit up. Liked the fact there are various quotes from him as part of the memorial.

Would not miss this Memorial. A man honored for peace and peaceful protest. With the climate following this election we need to be mindful of our differences yet respectful of our rights as Americans.

Dr. King's important and timeless words are more important today than ever, in light of recent politics. Take this in to remind yourself of the rights of every member of our society. History, yet important today.
