I live nearby and can testify this is the most underrated destination in DC. Especially on a spring / summer day, go here for some rest between sight seeing. Bring a picnic or pick up some food nearby at Harris teeter.

Beautiful park with great architecture. There's beautiful arches and stairs where you can enter. It's lined with amazing trees and a nice place to take a walk and relax in the city.

Took a walk and discovered this park with it's grand cascading fountains, terraced landscaping and walking paths. The only thing not park-like and tranquil was the police car parked in the middle of the playing field. Oh well, it still is a urban area.
